White Sox invite injured fan to game

The Chicago White Sox have invited a Gurnee man who lost his eye in a fight with three Cubs fans to attend a game of his choice this season with his fiancee.

White Sox spokesman Lou Hernandez told a newspaper that 32-year-old Robert Steele and his fiancee April Bieze would be guests of the team.

Three Chicago Cubs fans face felony charges in McHenry County after allegedly beating Steele so badly at a child's birthday party that he lost his eye.

The White Sox say the team is pulling for Steele to make it through his difficult time.

Bieze says she and Steele were surprised by the offer and that they will choose a game after he recovers further.
