KLM Builders introduces new ranch at Thousand Oaks

KLM Builders Inc. has unveiled its newest crowd-pleaser at Thousand Oaks in Spring Grove: a fully furnished and decorated ranch model that showcases the wide range of amenities, outstanding construction and quality building supplies crafted into every residence in their newest community of 74 single-family, semi-custom homes.

"We designed The Brentwood to be one of our signature ranch homes. It is an open floor plan with fabulous curb appeal," said Barry McMahon, vice president of KLM Builders. "This beautifully designed model home reveals a fresh, new plan that will to appeal to a broad range of home buyers."

Upon entering The Brentwood model, visitors are greeted by the warm earth tones of knotty cherry and alder woods, upscale furnishings and rich fabrics, all of which were carefully chosen to evoke a lavish, yet comfortable and relaxing feel, said Sally Meier, owner of KLM Interiors, the interior decorating firm responsible for dressing up The Brentwood.

"The model's prominent theme is classic, sophisticated elegance, as evidenced by the deep, natural colors; stunning décor; luminous, hand-painted faux finishes and fine building materials used throughout The Brentwood," Meier said.

Starting with front entry, matching chandeliers cast an incandescent glow across the tumbled marble floors as they lead to the dining, kitchen and great room areas. Silver-leaf paint embellishments shimmer on the trey ceiling, making the formal dining room resplendent with light. A grand table, chandelier and granite-topped buffet are among the regal and opulent extra touches.

The great room features a cast-stone fireplace flanked by wooden bookcases; a remote-controlled, art screen oil painting that reveals a 50-inch plasma TV; timbered beams with corbels, and five-inch-wide American cherry flooring. Adjacent and open to the great room is the kitchen and eating area.

The master bedroom of The Brentwood has a wall of windows overlooking the rear yard. The master bathroom has double vanities, an jetted tub and a walk-in shower.

"One of the showstoppers in this home is the extensively detailed theater/screening room in the lower level, which can seat up to eight people," Meier said. "We have furnished it with an ultra-comfy sofa and hand-painted vintage theater seats. We also fitted the room with a 119-inch movie screen and state-of-the-art sound system."

The sizable, finished lower level also features a temperature-controlled wine storage room, a full-service bar with dual mini-refrigerators, dishwasher, and ice maker; a rock fireplace in the family space and a fitness area.

The home includes two additional bedrooms, 3 baths and a library with built-in cabinetry.

Buyers at Thousand Oaks can choose from more than 20 plans, which include two-story, ranch and first-floor master bedroom designs. Each home features three to five bedrooms, 2 to four baths, wood-burning fireplace, full basement and three- to four-car garage.

Current prices range from the $470,000s to the low $700,000s, and sizes span from 2,300 to 3,775 square feet.
