Bernie Mac hospitalized with pneumonia

Bernie Mac's publicist says the actor and comedian has been hospitalized in Chicago for pneumonia.
Danica Smith said in a statement issued Friday that the 50-year-old is responding well to treatment.
She says Mac, a Chicago native who lives in the south suburbs, should be released soon.
Smith says the pneumonia isn't related to Mac's sarcoidosis (sahr-coy-DOE'-sis), an inflammatory lung disease. Mac's disease has been in remission since 2005.
Mac made waves last month when he made off-color jokes during a Chicago fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
