Parents must use safety at ballgames
It is really scary to see anybody, especially a 7-year-old kid, get hit by a foul ball at a ballpark.
Thankfully it looks like he'll be all right.
I watch a lot of ball games on TV. I've been a Cubs fan since 1950.
Economics and poor transportation has prevented me from going for a long time.
What really bothers me is that almost every game, the camera randomly picks up people in the stands.
A lot of these show little kids, looking like they are anywhere from six months on up.
A lot of times they are sitting in seats that can be dangerous for these kids, like what happened to the 7-year-old.
Aren't these parents concerned?
I realize the fans are taking a risk of their own accord, but wait until one of their kids is really seriously hurt.
I don't want it to happen, but you know some day it will. If not in Chicago, somewhere else.
By the way, did anyone notice during the July 11 telecast that one of those random shots of fans picked up a picture of a kid about 10 years old sampling his dad's beer?
