Cougars offer rainchecks for fans at Wrigley game
Fans who attended Tuesday night's historic game at Wrigley Field between the Kane County Cougars and Peoria Chiefs will have a chance to pick up where that game left off.
Due to rain stopping the game, fans were unable to run the bases at Wrigley Field. Now the Cougars are offering ticketholders from that game an opportunity to exchange their tickets and receive reserved or lawn seat tickets for Sunday's Aug. 3 game at Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva. Game time is at 2 p.m. Sunday and all fans will be allowed to run the bases following the game, regardless of age.
"Running the bases is such an important Cougars tradition that includes all fans, both young and old," Cougars general manager Jeff Sedivy said. "Last night's unfortunate rainstorm at Wrigley Field did not give a record-size crowd an opportunity to run the bases and we'd like to extend an invitation for all fans to run the bases and enjoy a Cougars game this Sunday."
Sunday's contest between the Cougars and the West Michigan Whitecaps will include a pre-game autograph session with Cougars players as well as the organization's popular Jimmy Buffett Theme Day, which includes a free postgame concert by Od Tapo Imi.
To exchange their tickets, fans must visit the Kane County Cougars ticket office at 34W002 Cherry Lane in Geneva, just south of the intersection of Kirk Road and Route 38. The Cougars are also encouraging fans to exchange their tickets sooner rather than later for best seating availability.
The Cougars box office is open from 9-6 p.m. each day this week. No exchanges will be accepted over the phone or online. Fans may contact the Cougars ticket office with inquiries, however at (630) 232-8811.
