Suburban men arrested in Brewers-Cubs brawl at Miller Park
Three Chicago Cubs fans were arrested for allegedly trying to beat up a Milwaukee Brewers fan at Miller Park in Milwaukee on Tuesday night.
Arrested were a 34-year-old man from Joliet and a 25-year-old and a 26-year-old man, both from Downers Grove, said Anne E. Schwartz, Milwaukee Police public affairs director.
The names of the three offenders are being withheld until they officially are charged by the Milwaukee County district attorney's office, Schwartz said.
Schwartz said the three men were in a bus in the parking lot of Miller Park at 10:39 p.m. after the Cubs beat the Brewers when an unnamed 24-year-old man from West Allis, Wisc., threw a can at the bus.
The three offenders left the bus to give chase and repeatedly punched the victim, Schwartz said.
The victim suffered serious facial injuries and lost a tooth and was taken to an area hospital with cuts to his face.
The three suspects were arrested by police on charges of substantial battery, a felony in Wisconsin.
The Associated Press also is reporting the 34-year-old from Joliet received a municipal ticket for assault and battery after police say he punched his sister in the mouth as she tried to intervene in the fight. However, Schwartz did not confirm that report.
