Chicago man guilty of dealing crack in Iowa

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- A Chicago man could face life in prison after being convicted of distributing and possessing crack cocaine in Sioux City, Iowa.

U.S. Attorney Matt Dummermuth says Jay Beane also faces fines of $12 million. He was convicted of one count of conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of crack cocaine and one count of possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of crack cocaine.

Beane was found guilty after a three-day trial. He was arrested in Sioux City in February.

Beane now faces sentencing before U.S. District Court Judge Donald E. O'Brien. A date hasn't yet been set.
