No one hurt in Campton Twp. fire

St. Charles fire officials said a heat lamp ignited a fire that caused $15,000 in damages on Silver Glen Road Saturday night.

The fire ignited in the basement at 41W300 Silver Glen Road at about 8:14 p.m. in unincorporated Campton Township, the press release stated.

Crews on the scene found smoke on the first floor of the two-story structure. The fire in the basement was under control in about 20 minutes, the release said.

No one was injured in the fire, the press release states. People who were in the home when the blaze ignited were able to exit safely.

Geneva, Elburn and Batavia fire departments assisted in the blaze.
