Hampshire man found dead of suspected alcohol poisoning

A 22-year-old Hampshire man died of suspected alcohol poisoning over the weekend at a friend's house in Hanover Park.

Gabriel Chiu was at a small party on the 6600 block of Appletree Street when friends called 911 around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Hanover Park police said.

Autopsy results are pending toxicology reports by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office, but police are looking at the incident as an alcohol-related death.

"Through interviews it appears drinking was involved," said Deputy Chief David Webb. "We're not suspecting foul play but we're still investigating a few avenues."
