More you weigh, the more you pay to fly
With the airlines now charging for baggage handling, sandwiches and fuel charges, and their latest one, eliminating the 500-pound movie systems and saving $10 million a year on fuel, the solution to all of this is to just charge air fares at a price per pound based on your weight. You will be asked to submit your weight at booking and be charged by the pound. At the time of your trip you will have to weigh in and either receive an additional charge or a credit if weighing in less or more than specified at your booking.
All we would do is weigh in and a lot of time and money will be saved with the elimination of management jobs of people who now sit at a table and determine how much to increase this or that. At booking, the agent simply would ask your weight. This method would also be an incentive for those wishing to lose some weight.
