Analysis was more hype, not substance
I agree with Thomas Frerk (Fence Post, July 20). The headline "Economic magic wand isn't there" has no place on the front page and furthermore is misleading.
The "analysis" by the AP of Bush's speech goes on to point out that Bush was referring to gas prices not having a "magic wand solution," not the economy has a whole.
For the AP to generalize this (which they freely admit to in the article) and then the Herald to lead with it on the front page is totally irresponsible, feeds people's fears, and is typical of the media today, which time and time again is more hype, less substance.
Stick to reporting the facts, Daily Herald.
