Police beat
Barrington
• David R. Hudson, 19, 170 Hilltop Ave., Barrington, was arrested around 3:25 a.m. July 23 at Main Street and Eastern Avenue and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. His court date is Aug. 29.
• A 2001 Chevrolet Malibu on the 300 block of East Russell Street was vandalized between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. July 20. A damage estimate was not available.
• Jesse Alvarez Jr., 18, 1425 N. Oakmont Road, Hoffman Estates, was arrested around 12:35 a.m. July 19, charged with tossing a lit firecracker out of a moving vehicle at Dundee Road and Glencrest Drive, Inverness. His court date is Aug. 18.
• A four-seat paddle boat was stolen from a sand beach at a private lake on the 2200 block of Harrowgate Drive, Inverness, on an unknown date but reported July 20. The boat was valued at about $600.
• An unlocked boys blue and silver bicycle was stolen from outside a park district pool, 235 Lions Drive, between 4:20 and 5 p.m. July 18. The theft was valued at $250.
• Someone took $1,200 out of a safe at 208 S. Cook St. on July 22.
Palatine
• Joseph Machometa, 27, 1670 Bayside, Hoffman Estates, and Talar Sazian, 20, 1124 Thomas Moore Terrace, Mount Prospect, were arrested around 11:30 p.m. July 19 in a parking lot on the 700 block of West Palatine Road and charged with assault and battery. Police say Sazian pulled a 21-year-old man out of his car and choked him; Machometa also attacked the man, police said. Court dates were not available.
