Chicago police hold annual gun buy back
Chicago police hope to get hundreds of guns off the street through their annual gun turn-in initiative.
Residents who hand over to police a weapon will receive a $100 prepaid MasterCard. Last year police collected 6,700 weapons more than twice the total for the previous two years combined.
Police have established 25 locations across the city for residents to hand in weapons during Saturday's event.
Police will also accept replica and air guns, providing a $10 prepaid card to residents surrendering each of those guns.
