"Gunnin' For No. 1 Spot"
In the wake of Chicago's "Hoop Dreams," most basketball documentaries look pretty conventional. That describes Beastie Boy Adam Yauch's "Gunnin' for That No. 1 Spot," a doc profiling eight of the best teen players in 2006's "Elite 24" all-star game. Hardcore basketball fans will like it, despite the considerable padding with musical montages and way too many fish-eye views of New York City streets. PG-13 (language) 90 minutes.

Opens today at Pipers Alley, Chicago.
