Using 5 legacies as examples to follow

"Elegy for five fine suburban women" (Our View, July 18) was a fitting tribute to a generation of women who led the way for all citizens of the suburbs.

Some of us were privileged to know them.

Others have their legacies as examples to follow, especially the fine young women who are or will be running for office.

We've seen what systemic changes leadership and courage can bring.

We honor the five by continuing to face the challenges these times bring to us.
