Glencoe native opening for Corbin Bleu at DuPage Co. Fair
One week after graduation from high school, Justin Stein moved from the suburbs to Los Angeles to pursue his musical dreams.
After getting attention from executives affiliated with Disney, Justin landed a deal to open for Corbin Bleu at the DuPage County Fair and other dates on the High School Musical star's 2008 summer tour.
The Glencoe native and New Trier High School grad creates music described as a fusion of pop, rock, and R&B. Uptempo tunes like "Leave It On The Floor," "Loose Control," and "Don't Be Playin With My Heart," bring audiences to their feet. Ballads such as "Sweetest Girl" and "Ill Never Look Away (Hey Girl)" also are popular.
The 17-year-old singer, actor, dancer, composer, and performer loves being onstage and in the studio. He is currently working on his debut solo album scheduled to be released late this year.
Onstage since the age of 5, Justin has had a variety of performance experiences that range from serious theater to pop vocal concerts. Justin's most recent performance was onstage at Lincoln Center, where he joined a prestigious cast in a production of "Camelot". This production was aired as a PBS special and featured Gabriel Byrne, Christopher Lloyd, Fran Drescher, Stacey Keach, and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
Over the years, he has performed in many different venues around the Chicago area. Those include sharing the stage with Patti LuPone in "Gypsy" at the Ravinia Festival, portraying Dickon in Porchlight Theatre's "The Secret Garden," playing Younger Brother in "Ragtime," performing in "Bye Bye Birdie" at the Marriott Theatre Lincolnshire, and appearing two different times at Symphony Center.
When Justin was ten, he sang on the Rosie O' Donnell show.
His songs will be featured on Radio Disney this summer. For details, visit Justin at justinstein.com or www.myspace.com/justinsteinmusic.
