Mully, Hanley succeed North at Score
All-sports WSCR 670-AM formally named Mike Mulligan and Brian Hanley morning-drive hosts Monday to replace the departed Mike North.
Hanley has been a Score contributor for 16 years, and Mulligan has been with the Score for five years. They've held the midday-morning shift the last three years and were typically beating top all-sports competitor WMVP 1000-AM in the most recent ratings books.
But now in moving up to the 6-10 a.m. shift, they'll go up against ESPN Radio's syndicated morning show with hosts Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic, who typically beat North for the first three hours, then finishing with an hour against WMVP local hosts Tom Waddle and Marc Silverman.
"Mully and Hanley overperformed in the midday day part," said Score general manager Paul Agase, "and have built a strong bond with their audience through grass-roots promotions and Chicago sports talk. They have made a great connection with the audience that we believe will continue into morning drive and beyond."
"Their shift to mornings will introduce the popular co-hosts to a new set of listeners who will no doubt appreciate their everyman appeal," said Score program director Mitch Rosen.
No morning-midday host has been named, although Laurence Holmes has been filling the shift.
