Left has it wrong on 2nd Amendment

I've noticed much wailing and gnashing of teeth on the left side of the fence since the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed the fact that the Second Amendment applies to individual Americans. I'm not surprised to hear these rumblings, as this bunch has never appeared to have the capacity for logical thought and has always relied on emotional caterwauling in their arguments, such as they are.

It has always amazed me when those opposed to private ownership of guns try to say that the Second Amendment applies not to individual Americans, but to the militia and/or the National Guard. They apparently never stopped to consider how many governments around the world found it necessary to have posted in their respective constitutions the "right" for their own armed forces to possess arms.

Next, these anti-gun folks are also quick to point out that assault weapons were never intended to be included in the Second Amendment. This from the same bunch that says the Second Amendment applies to the military, not the individual.

Think about it: If, as they say, this amendment applies only to the military, and if it was never meant to apply to the bearing of assault weapons, then they are saying the military itself cannot bear assault weapons.

While I'm looking forward to the day when the lefties in this country start talking coherently and logically, I'm not going to hold my breath as I wait.
