Road closed in Barrington Hills

Drivers may need to leave themselves extra time while traveling through Barrington Hills the next few weeks. Starting today and continuing through Aug. 10, Algonquin/River Road is being closed about 300 feet west of Braeburn Road while a storm sewer culvert is replaced. Barrington Hills engineer Dan Strahan said they are encouraging motorists to use Braeburn Road, Spring Creek and Haegers Bend Road as a detour. While traffic will be blocked in both directions where the work is being done, Strahan said residents living on the street will still be able to access their driveways.
