Murray to skydive during Chicago Air and Water Show
According to a published report, actor Bill Murray, who's a Chicago-area native, has agreed to parachute from a plane as part of a special appearance at the Chicago Air and Water Show next month.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Murray will tandem jump with the Golden Knights skydiving team onto North Avenue Beach on Aug. 15.
It is the 50th anniversary of the popular show on Chicago's lakefront, and the Mayor's Office of Special Events is bringing in a number of show business celebrities, including Murray and actor Gary Sinise, who also has Chicago roots.
Murray has agreed to the parachute stunt to bring attention to the USO of Illinois and the work that organization does on behalf of the troops here and overseas.
