Tattoo parlor faces second lawsuit

CHICAGO -- A Chicago man with a misspelled "tomorrow" in a tattoo on his forearm has filed a negligence lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against the tattoo parlor where the work was done.

The Lawsuit filed Friday by 30-year-old Alfonse Wingfield is the second time in 17 months Jade Dragon Tattoo and Body Piercing has faced litigation from customers alleging tattoos had misspelled words. Last year, a customer said he left with the word "CHI-TONW" instead of "CHI-TOWN."

Wingfield says he paid $250 for the tattoo in 2006, and that artist Mike Edrington misspelled the word.

Edrington, however, says he performed the work exactly the way Wingfield specified, and he maintains the word "tomorrow" was misspelled on the slip of paper Wingfield handed him.
