Mundelein man accused of stealing cash, satellite TV service

A 20-year-old Mundelein man faces a pair of felony charges alleging he racked up a $948 satellite television bill on his boss' debit card and stole another $800 cash this year before losing his job.

Fernando DeJesus Pulido was charged this week with unlawful use of a credit card and theft stemming from the claims made earlier this month by the owner of a Woodstock horse farm where he once worked.

A $20,000 warrant for Pulido's arrest was issued this week and the McHenry County Sheriff's Department is seeking the public's help in locating him.

Authorities allege the crimes began about March, shortly after Pulido began working as a groomer on the farm. He somehow got hold of the farm owner's debit card and used it to order himself satellite television services through DirecTV, police said.

In June, sheriff's police said, the farm's owner noticed about $800 cash missing from a farm-owned vehicle Pulido had been using.

"The victim suspected a theft and released him," sheriff's Sgt. Michael Cisner said. "That's about when the victim received a bill from DirecTV in the mail."

The charges against Pulido are Class 3 felonies, punishable by a maximum two to five years in prison.

Anyone with information about Pulido's whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division at (815) 338-2144 or Crimestoppers at (800) 762-STOP.
