Chicago all-stars help set records in MLL's big event
DENVER, Colo. - Major League Lacrosse's Western Conference team set an all-star record, scoring 31 points in Thursday's 2008 MLL All-Star Game.
Three members of the Chicago Machine contributed significantly to the 31-15 rout by the West all-stars.
Veteran attackman and four-time all-star Kevin Leveille tied for the game high in total points, tallying 3 goals and 4 assists.
Rookie midfielder Steven Brooks, a Libertyville native, contributed 4 points on 3 goals and 1 assist.
Machine goalie Mike Gabel manned the net in the second half. He limited the Eastern Conference to 9 goals and had 14 saves.
The Machine returns to regular-season action and takes on the Los Angeles Riptide at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Toyota Park in Bridgeview.
