Briefs: Special Olympics tag sale

The Aurora Police Department is raising funds to benefit Special Olympics with a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Saturday on the third floor of the Area 2 Police Station, 157 N. Root St. Park in the north parking lot and enter through the north doors. Clothing, toys, furniture, books, videos, Christmas decorations, housewares and electronics will be for sale. Get a massage

The massage therapy program at Elgin Community College offers student-run massage clinics each Saturday this month in the massage therapy clinic, Room 214 of the Advanced Technology Center on the main campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. The fee is $35 for an hourlong session. Massage therapy clinic III is a course in the final semester of student training designed to provide students with the opportunity to completely run their own clinical business with ECC supervisory staff on site. Students serve as both office managers and therapists to prepare themselves to enter their chosen profession after passing the national certification exam and obtaining a state of Illinois license. Woman faces fraud charges

A DuPage County grand jury this week indicted a Yorkville woman on charges she falsified documents to secure mortgages for clients of her Plainfield business. Kelli R. Wilson, 25, is charged with financial institution fraud, mail fraud and forgery, according to court records released Wednesday. The allegations stem from her business, Investors Choice Mortgage Corporation. Wilson is due in court Sept. 4.

New YMCA director named

The Kroehler Family YMCA, serving Aurora, Naperville and Oswego communities, hired "fitness buff" Ron Anderson as its new director of health and wellness. Most recently, Anderson has served as an instructor and personal trainer at Kroehler. "I have seen Ron in action here at our YMCA and know he represents the mission and values of the YMCA and that he is a great fit in our Health & Wellness Department," said RJ Bartels, Executive Director, Kroehler Family YMCA.

New yoga business
