Boy killed walking under semi

Authorities say a Chicago boy was killed when he tried to cross a major West Side street by going under a semitrailer truck that had stopped in traffic.

A Chicago Police spokesman, Officer John Mirabelli, says 10-year-old Malick Brown was killed about 4 p.m. Thursday when the United Parcel Service truck pulled forward.

Mirabelli says the boy was struck by the trailer wheels.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead several hours later.
