Politicians who are best at being the worst

Here in Illinois, our politicians are or have to be some of the best in the business. Why is that? I have just returned from a 3,700-mile driving vacation and drove about 10 percent of that in our once great state. Every mile in Illinois was worse than any of the other so-called poorer states around us. Every other state was free, except Oklahoma, which was all tolls. Illinois politicians must have moved to retire there. Even I-80 was in terrible condition.

But back to my original point. Why our politicians are the very best. They have managed to not only give us some of the worst highways in the nation, but they are so good, they make us pay to drive on these so-called highways. This is no small feat, because Illinois voters like this so much, we keep voting these people in.

I guess one good thing about $5-a-gallon gas, less people will be driving on these garbage roads so there will be less complaints.
