Gavin DeGraw to headline Last Fling

Gavin DeGraw will replace the Black Crowes as a Last Fling headliner.

The pop singer who shot to fame in 2003 with his breakthrough hit "I Don't Want To Be," replaces The Black Crowes, who backed out of the Naperville Jaycees Labor Day weekend festival in June due to scheduling conflicts.

DeGraw's performance is slated for 8 p.m. Aug. 31 on the main stage at the base of Rotary Hill along the Riverwalk. He is touring in support of his second studio release that premiered at No. 7 on Billboard magazine's music charts in May.

Last Fling co-executive director John Wrona said the Jaycees chose DeGraw because of his music's wide appeal.

DeGraw joins a lineup that features former Styx frontman Dennis DeYoung opening the festival Aug. 29, followed by The Doobie Brothers the next night. Chicago-area pop band The Hat Guys headline the final performance of the weekend with a 4 p.m. show Labor Day, organizers said.

The festival is held in downtown Naperville and draws roughly 300,000 people throughout the four days. For more information on the event visit www.lastfling.org.
