Elgin Police ask public's help to find jewelry store robbery suspects

Elgin Police are asking for help finding four men who robbed a jewelry store on Friday, July 11.

Police officials said four males entered Sophie's Jewelry Store in the 100 block of Grove Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. and pulled a gun on the store clerks.

The clerks were taken in the back while robbers emptied the store of jewelry, offcials said.

Police said no one was injured in the confrontation, and an undetermined amount of jewelry was taken.

The four suspects are Hispanic males. The first was wearing a while baseball cap and a grey shirt with white lettering. The second was wearing a black baseball hat with a black shirt and grey pants. The third suspect was wearing a white hat, a blue and black striped shirt and grey pants, while the fourth wore a grey button down shirt and jeans.

Elgin Police detectives continue to investigate the robbery and ask anyone that may recognize the suspects to call the Major Investigations Division at 847-289-2600.
