Airport may place national ads to get more users

The Chicago Executive Airport, which is co-owned by Prospect Heights and Wheeling, may embark on a marketing campaign to bring in more users. The airport board on Wednesday discussed putting advertisements into airplane magazines and other Chicago business publications to attract fliers, especially if major airlines stop servicing certain cities. "Either we accept traffic's down, or we do something," airport manager Dennis Rouleau said. The ads would feature people who use or work at the airport. A one-time ad would cost about $10,000. At its meeting in August, the board will decide how much money it wants to spend on the advertising.
