New leadership needed on energy

Gas prices are continuing to spiral out of control, and this Congress is refusing to address the problem. Republicans offer unsustainable solutions such as offshore drilling or ANWR - failing to address the long term, pragmatic solutions we deserve. By now you'd think that our government had figured this out, by now you think the White House would have committed us to energy independence and green technology. By now you'd think we'd have learned not to listen to George Bush, Rep. Judy Biggert, and every other neoconservative in Congress. The fact is we need a new energy plan for America. Gas prices are going to continue to spiral out of control, and nothing will stop it until we adapt to our changing world. With the right leadership, we can develop new technologies and establish America's leadership in green markets. These problems are bigger than any one person, and it is unfair to blame one particular politician for all of the world's ills. But it is our duty to hold our representatives in Congress responsible for their partisan stonewalling and self-serving rhetoric. The 13th Congressional District deserves a leader who will be a driving force for green markets and technology. And it should be all of our responsibilities to vote for candidates of change like Barack Obama, and Scott Harper for Congress in the 13th District, this fall.
