A regular guy candidate
My name is Bill Swearingen. I am offering my services as a state representative or senator. What do I have to offer? Common sense would be the first thing. Love for my country the next.
I have served my country proudly for four years in the Air Force and was honorably discharged. Paid my fair share of taxes for both the state and the federal government. Voted in every election - locally and nationwide. I used to vote on issues that concerned us in our hometown, but that right's been removed under the guise of home rule. The one thing that I do have is that I owe no one anything politically, unlike the professional politicians here and in Washington, D.C. Wouldn't it be nice to elect someone that owes only to the people that elected him? Someone who doesn't take taxpayers dollars as a war chest and waste it on an election?
Elections were never supposed be for the wealthy only. Some of our greatest leaders were elected based on ability and not their war chests.
