Game On!: noon-2 p.m. July 15 and 22; Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood. Open to teens in grades 7-12. Hang out in Friends Room B to play Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero, Karaoke, or Wii.

Teen Battle of the Books: Read "Uglies," "Looking for Alaska," "Twilight," "American Born Chinese" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" and answer questions about them. Monthly Movie: 2 and 6:30 p.m. July 15; Rolling Meadows Library, 3110 Martin Lane. This PG rated movie takes you back in history with treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates to discover the truth behind the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Free. (847) 259 6050.

Storytime in the Park: 11:15 a.m. July 15; Pioneer Park, Arlington Heights Library staff hosts 20-minute storytime and bookmobile. In case of bad weather, storytime is canceled, but bookmobile open for checkouts. No registration needed.

Sister City Celebration: 6:30-7:30 p.m. July 16; Mount Prospect Public Library, 10 S. Emerson St. Celebration honoring Mount Prospect's Sister City of Sèvres, France. Ancient Egyptian Art: 1-3 p.m. July 16; Des Plaines History Center, 781 Pearson St. Ancient Egyptians used special jars called canopic jars when they made mummies. Make a miniature version during this program. No registration is necessary. The program is geared toward children ages 5-12, and an adult must accompany children. Dangerous Boys and Daring Girls: 2-3 p.m. July 17 and 24; Rolling Meadows Library, 3110 Martin Lane, Rolling Meadows.
