Bloomington library pulls 'soft porn' DVD

BLOOMINGTON -- Bloomington Public Library patrons looking to rent the movie "Shortbus" on DVD won't find it on the shelves.

A customer complained the movie was pornographic and a library committee decided to remove it.

The 2006 film is about New Yorkers trying to work through sexual problems, according to the Internet Movie Database.

Library patron Bill Swearingen complained about the movie and says he's glad it's gone.

Swearingen called it "soft porn" that shouldn't be in the library.

Library Director Georgia Bouda said she didn't know why the movie was picked for the library.

The process to remove it included having several librarians watch it and checking to see if other libraries carried it.
