Why no crackdown on firecrackers?
As I sat up the night of July 4 listening to a neighborhood that sounded like Beruit, I wondered where the police were.
This is Illinois and fireworks are illegal, so why no enforcement? I thought it must be anything-goes day.
Since no one was enforcing that law, I wondered which ones they were enforcing.
It would be nice to at least see an attempt to curb some of the fireworks.
The towns are always crying for money. What about collecting those fines?
The next morning, my yard was littered with spent bottle rockets.
I guess the old saying, "Lead by example" rings true.
Our federal government has a few laws that they turn a blind eye to (immigration) so why not everyone else?
