10 injured in Elgin accident
Ten people were injured, none seriously, after a mid-size car collided with a van Saturday morning at the corner of Highland Avenue and State Street in Elgin, an Elgin fire official said.
The injured were transported to Sherman Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital in Elgin, the official said.
The Elgin Fire Department had to extricate some of the injured from the van, which tipped over on its side. Nine people were in the van and one person was in the car, the official said.
Elgin police said no report was available and declined further comment, other than to say they believed the injuries were minor.
