Garden walks

The Arlington Heights Garden Club's 2008 Garden Walk and Unique Boutique is held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today (noon to 5 p.m. for the garden walk). There is a raffle, shopping and more at 110 W. Fremont St., Arlington Heights. $10 donation. (847) 962-9909.

The Mount Prospect Historical Society features eight gardens from noon to 4 p.m. including The Courtyard at Trinity United Methodist Church located at 605 W. Golf Road, and Moehling Park at 10 S. The Tri-Village Garden Club presents a virtual garden walk of rooftop gardens, spiritual gardens, school gardens and alley gardens from 7-10 p.m. Wednesday at Poplar Creek Public Library, 1405 S. Park Ave., Streamwood. Call (630) 372-0052.

The Midwest Pond and Koi Society features ponds in a different region for each date of its annual tours. The cost is $15 for a guidebook. Ponds in Near West suburbs participate Saturday, and those in farther West and Southwest suburbs will be open July 20.

Sheffield Garden Walk and Festival celebrates its 40th year with 100 gardens as well as food and music Saturday and July 20. The suggested donation is $6 until 5 p.m. and $10 afterward. Garden events

Spring Bluff Nursery hosts its annual "Girl's Night Out" celebration on Thursday with plant specials starting at 3 p.m. and performances with food and more at 6 p.m. Free admission.
