'Everything cool' between Cabrera, Dye

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen's mind, there was no chance of the Jermaine Dye-Orlando Cabrera dust-up Wednesday night carrying over into Thursday's game against the Royals.

"It was over last night during the game, and it was over last night two minutes after the game,'' Guillen said. "I had a meeting with them, I talked to them, everything was cool.''

Dye, who got into a shouting match with Cabrera in the dugout during the eighth inning, echoed his manager.

"We're together for seven-plus months and we become a family,'' Dye said. "Every team has disputes. It's just a matter of good teams dealing with them and saying what we have to say and move on. We're fine. We talked it out, made up and we're still good teammates.''

Cabrera didn't have much to say about the incident Thursday.

Was it a misunderstanding with Dye?

"Yeah,'' the Sox' shortstop said.

Just part of baseball?

"Yes.''

Dye said the dispute might have festered under a different manager.

"I think just because (Guillen) played the game before and understands what goes on off the field and on the field and in the clubhouse,'' Dye said. "He's a great player's manager. He gives this clubhouse to us, but if he sees something he doesn't like, he's going to let us know about it.''

Minor matters: Class AAA Charlotte center fielder Jason Bourgeois was 2-for-3 with 1 RBI and a stolen base in Thursday night's win over Richmond.

Bourgeois has a 14-game hitting streak, batting .453 (24-for-53) over that stretch.

Catcher Cole Armstrong was 3-for-3 against Richmond. Since being promoted from AA Birmingham, Armstrong (. 553) has gotten a hit in all 10 games with Charlotte.
