Judge candidates shouldn't take cash
Amazing the way these Republicans address a point by kicking up all sorts of dust that has nothing to do with anything. Mr. Early's response to my letter asking Patty Golden to "sign a pledge stating the she will not accept campaign contributions from attorneys or organizations that represent attorneys," is to point out that I am married to the chairman of the Elgin Township Democrats. Absolutely true, and irrelevant. I am also a supporter of Barack Obama and I wear size 6 shoes. All facts, all irrelevant. The point is that John Noverini has pledged to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest, which I as a citizen, see as a BIG plus in a judge. I would think that Patty Golden would agree, and that would be relevant.
By the way, here are a few facts about John Early. His office is on Big Timber Road. He is a former assistant state's attorney in Kane County. He has been the secretary-treasurer, vice president and president of the Kane County Bar Association (1997-2003), and he is one of the lawyers supporting Patricia Piper Golden.
You decide if any of these are relevant.
