Shamrox trade dispersal draft pick MacDonald to Portland
The Chicago Shamrox announced Monday that they have traded their second-round pick of the 2008 National Lacrosse League dispersal draft, Brad MacDonald, to the Portland LumberJax in exchange for forward Matt Holman and a second-round selection in the 2009 entry draft.
Holman, who just finished up his second season in the NLL, appeared in 10 games last season for the Portland LumberJax, totaling 5 goals and 3 assists while scooping 16 loose balls.
"We are pleased to have traded for Matt," said Machine coach and GM Jamie Batley. "He will help our team in scoring on the right side."
Over his two-year career in the NLL, Holman has appeared in 19 games and has recorded 19 goals, 8 assists, while scooping up 28 loose balls. During his rookie year in the league in 2007, Holman scored an impressive 14 goals in nine games.
The Chicago Shamrox are part of the National Lacrosse League and play their home games at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates in January through April.
