Smokers deserve their freedom, too
I read that smokers and bar owners have been taking a stand against the smoking ban. I applaud them in their fight against oppression.
When the government arbitrarily takes away the freedom of choice, it is up to the individual to fight back.
A government poll has been touting the fact the those polled are happy with the ban on smoking.
What they do not tell us is that this poll only asked 600 people residing in one general area.
It does not address all Illinois bar owners, nor has it apparently asked any Illinois smokers.
By taking away the choice of the bar owner to allow smoking in their establishment, they are infringing on the right of the owner to conduct business the way he or she wants.
Now that the gun ban, and the right to choose is being reexamined, let us do the same for the right to smoke in a place that chooses to cater to that clientele.
Nonsmokers have the right to avoid smoking bars. Let smokers have the right to avoid nonsmokers!
