Mourners attend funeral for slain Chicago police officer
Hundreds of uniformed police officers are paying their respects at the funeral of a 60-year-old Chicago police officer killed in the line of duty.
The funeral procession for Richard Francis included cadets in uniform, officers on horseback, and bagpipers.
The 27-year veteran police was fatally shot last week while on duty. He's survived by a wife and two daughters.
A 45-year-old woman has been charged with murder in the officer's death. Authorities allege Robin Johnson took the officer's weapon and shot him.
She was allegedly involved in a fight on a Chicago Transit Authority bus and Francis responded to the incident. Johnson is being held without bond.
