Hundreds attend wake for slain police officer
Hundreds of mourners have attended a wake for slain Chicago police officer Richard Francis.
The 60-year-old veteran police officer was fatally shot while on duty. His wake was Sunday and a funeral is scheduled for Monday.
Officers, firefighters and civilians stood in line for over an hour at the funeral home.
Francis was killed Wednesday.
A 45-year-old woman has been charged with murder in the death. Authorities allege Robin Johnson was involved in a fight on a Chicago Transit Authority bus.
After the driver pulled over, Francis responded to the incident.
Johnson allegedly took the officer's weapon and shot him. Authorities say she also shot at other responding officers who shot back.
