Arrest warrant issued for Lincolnshire murder suspect

Police on Sunday issued an arrest warrant for the husband of a woman who was stabbed to death Saturday in the parking lot of a Lincolnshire hotel.

Clarence John Weber Jr., 58, with a last known address in Waukegan, has served prision time in Florida for attempting to kill his first wife, authorities said. He is now wanted for the murder of Adelina Weber, a Waukegan mother of three.

He will be charged with first degree murder and will be held on $2 million bond when he is arrested, police said.

"We have every detective tracking down leads and helping us bring him into custody," said Det. Dominic Cappelluti of the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force, adding that they have "strong leads" as to where he is right now.

Adelina Weber, 31, had an active order of protection against Clarence Weber, and had served him with divorce papers several days ago, authorities said.

According to Cappelluti, Adelina Weber had agreed to meet her husband in the parking lot behind the SpringHill Suites, 300 Marriott Drive, in Lincolnshire, after she finished her shift Saturday afternoon at a nearby restaurant. The meeting was to discuss their divorce proceedings, police said,

"We have information that his intent was to try to work something out and she agreed to meet with him," Cappelluti said. "Somehow, the meeting went bad and there was violence."

Witnesses told police that a bleeding Adelina Weber staggered into the hotel lobby at 2:11 p.m. Saturday and collapsed.

Hotel employees called for emergency services and attempted to aid the woman, who was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment.

Lake County Coroner Dr. Richard Keller said Sunday that she died from a stab wound to the chest.

Clarence Weber was convicted of attempted murder in Florida for an attack on his wife at the time, Cappelluti said, and served seven years of a 19-year prison sentence.

Police have notified that woman of Adelina Weber's murder.

Police say Clarence Weber is 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He may be driving a red Chevy Equinox.
