Garden events
Spring Bluff Nursery hosts Jim Feuerborn, a local bee expert and beekeeper, who leads a tour of his hives and a demonstration of honey production at 10 a.m. Saturday. Meet at 41 W 130 Norris Road, Sugar Grove. The nursery also sponsors a tour of a private Naperville garden on Friday. Cost is $12, which includes lunch. Call (630) 466-4278 for more information.
The Fox Valley Garden Walk sponsored by the Chicago Botanic Garden, which features six Elgin gardens, is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10-$12. Call (847) 741-9475.
Chicago Botanic Garden
Grapes and Hops, a series of wine and beer tastings, starts Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is $10 and free for designated drivers.
Tafenqyi Gweshe and the Boterek wa Dance Troupe performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. A tour of the garden's bonsai collection led by curator Ivan Watters is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Cost is $37.
The Wisconsin-Illinois Lily Society Lily Show is from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and July 13. Admission to the garden at 1000 Lake-Cook Road, Glencoe, is free, but parking is $15 per car. Call (847) 835-5440 or visit www.chicagobotanic.org for more information.
