What Chicago deep dish means in Iraq

I want to publicly thank Master Sgt. (Ret.) Mark Evans and his son Kent, Lou Malnati's Pizza, DH and all the great Americans around Chicago who helped deliver a little Taste of Chicago to us here in Iraq.

I am serving in the Air Force, stationed at Camp Victory in Baghdad, and I can't tell you how much it meant to have some authentic Chicago deep dish at lunch today here on the 4th of July.

The effort and coordination that went into getting these pizzas shipped, received, distributed and served was nothing less than masterful.

Even though we are far from our homes and families, these little touches of home mean more to us than you could ever know.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed, and helped to make this Independence Day a truly memorable one for us here in Iraq!
