The true cost of oil
Our country was attacked by people with a great hatred of our way of life. Our government found out where these individuals came from, and with worldwide support for our use of military force. Our country was truly encouraged to defeat the terrorists and their Afghan nation supporters. We received great help from other countries who found merit in our justified actions. Then we went astray; we went to war against a country who had no capability to do any harm to our country. Our worldwide support evaporated overnight. From the beginning of the Iraq war, our friends and long term allies disappeared.
Our present administration has given all types of reasons why we had to attack Iraq, but we were told again and again we would not go to war over oil.
Today we are in a great period of negotiation with our chosen Iraqi government over the permanent basing of our troops in Iraq. We want full immunity for any and all of our military, our contractors, and all other civilians working for our government, while in Iraq against any and all real and potentially illegal act against the Iraqi people.
At the same time, four of our largest oil companies and Halliburton are working on no bid contracts for servicing the Iraqi oil fields.
Please think about your sons and daughters, husbands, wives and other family members guarding Iraqi oil fields. With our military providing security for our American oil companies, the price at the pump for fuel will without a doubt come down. Is it worth it for over 4,000 of our military killed and over 300,000 wounded, to be the extra cost of fuel. That part of the price for a gallon of gas we don't even think about. Or do you support our military by telling your senators, your representatives you don't want to pay for fuel with lives?
