West Dundee woman killed when run over by her car
A West Dundee woman is dead today after getting run over by her own car, Kane County police officials said.
Jacqueline S. Hansen, 38, backed her Dodge Durango into her driveway near Carpentersville just after 1:30 p.m. and exited her car, said Lt. Pat Gengler of the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
However, Hansen failed to put the car in park, and, as she left the vehicle, she either tripped or was dragged down by the vehicle and was run over, Gengler said.
"We are trying to find out why she got out of the car in the first place," Gengler said.
Hansen was transported to Sherman Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by the Kane County Coroner's Office.
Gengler said there were no other occupants in the vehicle and no foul play is suspected.
The sheriff's office is conducting a follow-up investigation into this incident, Gengler said.
