No injuries in Aurora house fire
An early morning fire Friday left an Aurora house temporarily uninhabitable but caused no injuries.
Aurora firefighters received a call to a two-story, single-family house at 252 High St. at 6:21 a.m. Friday.
Smoke appeared to be coming from the basement of the house, Battalion Chief Don Davids said.
Firefighters had the blaze under control within 20 minutes, but remained on scene for another hour, Davids said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation late Friday.
Davids said there was an estimated $50,000 damage to the house itself and another $50,000 of damage to the contents.
The original call apparently came from a female inside the house who made it out safely, Davids said.
