Three teens arrested in Sugar Grove for burglary
Sugar Grove police arrested three teenagers early Thursday and charged each with burglary to a motor vehicle and criminal trespass to a vehicle, according to Investigative Officer John Sizer.
Evan M. Olson, 17, of the 18400 block of Prichard Road in Maple Park, Kyle R. Musich, 17, of the 46W900 block of Elm Street in Kaneville, and Michael J. Giese, 17 of the 17400 block of Pleasant Street in Maple Park were arrested about 2 a.m.
The arrests were made after police received reports of subjects going through backyards in the area of Edgewood Drive and Gregory Place in the Black Walnut Hills subdivision. The calls were made about 11 p.m. Wednesday. Police then received a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle.
While in the area, police located two Ford pickup trucks that had what appeared to be items that were reporter stolen. When the teens returned to their trucks, they were arrested.
According to Sizer, one truck belonged to Olson and the other to Music. Sizer said the trucks were being searched as the case is still being investigated. No other details were available concerning what items were stolen.
Burglary to a motor vehicle is a class 2 felony and criminal trespass to a vehicle is a class A misdemeanor.
At bond call Thursday morning, a judge set bail at $25,000 for each and then released them on personal recognizance to their parents. The next court date will be July 17.
