More tickets available for Cougars-Chiefs game at Wrigley

The Cubs announced Thursday that, due to rising demand, tickets are now available for the upper deck box and upper deck reserved seating sections for the July 29 "Road to Wrigley" minor-league contest at 7:05 p.m. at Wrigley Field.

These upper deck tickets for the "Road to Wrigley," presented by National City, are available for only $5 or $10 on www.cubs.com. Advanced ticket sales for the contest have already shattered the Midwest League's single-game attendance record. The record stands at 14,492 and was set by the Kane County Cougars on Aug. 11, 2007.

Cubs Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg will return to the Wrigley Field dugout as a minor league manager when his Class A Peoria Chiefs host the Kane County Cougars in the official Midwest League contest. The game is believed to be the first minor league contest in the ballpark's 94-year history.

Fans attending this first-of-its-kind event at Wrigley Field will have the opportunity to participate in a number of traditional minor league ballpark activities, such as dizzy bat races, T-shirt tosses and the opportunity for all kids 14 years and younger to run the Wrigley Field bases at the end of the game.

Fans will also be entertained between innings by the mascots of both teams and an assortment of other fun characters who regularly perform at Peoria Chiefs games and several other ballparks.

Peoria became a Cubs' Single-A affiliate in 2005 and is located approximately 165 miles southwest of Chicago. Kane Country is affiliated with the Oakland Athletics and is located a little more than 40 miles west of Chicago.

Tickets for the "Road to Wrigley" start at $5 and are currently available on www.cubs.com. For more information, please visit www.cubs.com or call 1-800-THE-CUBS.
